Senior Consultant Public health – Director general of health services -Muscat – Ministry of health – Oman
Dr. Thamra Said Al Ghafri is the Director General of Health Services in the Muscat Governorate for the Oman Ministry of Health. In this role, she supervises all public health programs and oversees service delivery in primary and secondary healthcare institutions in Muscat.
Dr. Al Ghafri is an active member of several multi-sectoral committees focused on disease prevention, control, and health promotion. She engages with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services and prioritize patient safety.
Her interest lies in implementing safe, well-researched, and effective vector control interventions to combat dengue fever. Dr. Al Ghafri has made significant contributions to managing dengue fever outbreaks in Muscat, particularly through her efforts in community engagement, collaboration with experts, and the application of evidence-based behavior change techniques in vector control initiatives.
Dr. Thamra received her MPH from Boston school of public health, USA (2005) and PhD from Dundee university, UK (2019)
